Fantastic or Fabulous, whichever way you prefer, AC Milan’s front four were, in some ways, farcical against Feyenoord and changes will be made.

Leading up to the game, questions were asked about the feasibility of the four stars all starting together, but Sergio Conceicao believed that he could balance the system. However, this was not the case.

Instead, the test failed, and it did so in every sense. Getting the ball to the quartet was difficult, but when they did get the ball nothing was created, leaving Conceicao frustrated.

As a result, a change is almost guaranteed and Corriere dello Sport (via Pianeta Milan) writes that it is a time for  ‘important choices’. The side were not in tune, and the four players were ‘not an orchestra’, a harsh but true reality for the side to face.

Yunus Musah is already expected to return to the starting lineup, and there may be a change on the wings too. For Conceicao, there is a deeper question: does he stick with the 4-4-2 ‘fantasy’ or work with the squad’s limitations and settle on a middle ground?

The result in Rotterdam, as the report states, cannot be wasted now. Conceicao and the team must learn, and it is probably not the last time that will be said this season if lessons are not learned, and this is why a ‘revolution’ is in order.
