Pierre Kalulu is on the verge of a move to Juventus, but at one point it seemed a deal was heading towards him staying at AC Milan. However, the reasoning for the Frenchman changing his mind has been revealed.

It has been a summer of changes for Kalulu, and they have often come in quick periods. At the start of the summer, he was a central defender, then there were experiments with him at full-back. Shortly after this, he was back to being a cover player.

After that, there was the back and forth about his potential move to Juventus. From the figures to the deal itself, there were several uncertainties, and it seemed at one point that a deal would not be finalised with the player opting against a move.

However, with the Frenchman giving the deal the nod, and him arriving for a medical this morning, the deal is very much on, but why?

Well according to Corriere dello Sport (via Pianeta Milan), the move was unblocked by Thiago Motta. After Kalulu was unsure about the transfer – due to the structuring – Motta called the player, and the deadlock was broken.

The new Juventus manager is believed to have told the Frenchman that he will not be guaranteed a starting place, but he will have a fair chance to earn a place within the squad, and this is why he had a change of heart.
