Manchester City travel to Portman Road for the first time since 2001 as they look to get back to winning ways via a victory over Kieran McKenna’s Ipswich Town.
Pep Guardiola and his players are maintaining an unbeaten run since just before the turn of the year, with victories over Leicester City, West Ham United, and Salford City accompanied by draws against Everton and Brentford in the Premier League.
The latter may have caused further frustration however, that Manchester City are yet to emerge from their rough patch of form after Phil Foden’s brace against Thomas Frank’s side was cancelled out in the final 13 minutes to share the points in west London.
A trip to Ipswich this Sunday represents a stern test as January continues to throw plenty of challenges at Manchester City, with the contest followed up by an away trip to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League and a home tie against Chelsea in the Premier League.
An unbeaten run of three matches was brought to an end in midweek for Ipswich as they fell to a 0-2 home defeat to Brighton, following a comfortable win in the FA Cup third round and a statement victory over Chelsea amongst that run.
City find themselves close to full fitness this season, with Oscar Bobb and Rodri the only remaining stars expected to be entirely ruled out this weekend although the former is back in first-team training and requires an increase in match readiness before being called upon.
Ahead of kick-off at Portman Road, here is how both Kieran McKenna and Pep Guardiola have lined up their respective Ipswich Town and Manchester City sides in Premier League action!
