Francisco Conceiçao reveals Thiago Motta told him to ‘enjoy the experience’ and show his quality at Juventus, but the promising winger hasn’t yet spoken to Cristiano Ronaldo about the Bianconeri: ‘I will do so.’

Conceiçao joined Juventus on loan from FC Porto during the summer transfer window. The 21-year-old made his debut as a substitute in a 0-0 draw against Roma at the Allianz Stadium before the break but sustained an injury afterwards, so he will remain out of action for circa one month.

“I am feeling well. The team and the staff welcomed me warmly. I have positive feelings, and I want consistency now,” Conceiçao said during his unveiling press conference on Thursday, as quoted by Ilbianconero.com.

“I am working daily to return [from injury] quickly. I am calm because it’s not a big thing, we’ll see with time.

“When Juventus call, you want to arrive as soon as possible. I want to help the club and am sure I made the right decision.”

His compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo spent three years in Turin. Did Conceiçao talk to CR7 before joining Juventus?

“I still haven’t talked to him, but I will surely do so,” the winger replied.

“Our trajectories share many similar traits, and I see myself in his desire to improve.”

How about his father Sergio, a former Inter, Parma and Lazio winger in Serie A?

“Of course, I spoke to him even though he had played in Serie A many years ago,” said Francisco.

“He told me that Italian football is always competitive, one of the best in the world, with excellent quality and competitiveness. Ideal to show my qualities.

“There are comparisons [between him and his father], but I don’t listen to them. I am so proud of what he achieved, but I want to go down my own path and make my family proud.”

How can Thiago Motta help him develop, and what did the Juventus coach tell Conceiçao when he joined the club?

“Dribbling and one-on-one are my main qualities. I will improve under Motta, and he’ll take me to the next level. I can learn a lot here,” said Conceiçao.

“He told me to enjoy the experience and show my football. That’s what I’ve done trying to help the team. I am still not at my highest level but’ll reach it with time.

“Where I’ll play is up to the coach, and I am ready to help the team in any position. I feel more confident on the right, but I am prepared for anything.

“The club’s organisation didn’t surprise me,” he continued.

“We are talking about the most successful club in Italy, of course it’s fantastic. I am pleased to be here, and I think there are the conditions for a great job.”

Conceiçao is on loan at Juventus, but would he like to remain at Juventus long-term?

This is an aspect for the clubs, I am only focused on daily work. I am here to be as successful as possible. It’s a big club, and I hope to represent it for a long time,” he concluded.
