‘The Como market is becoming more and more ambitious. Baturina has been made official and waiting to close deals like Morata and more, Fabregas’ team is preparing to welcome a new attacking winger.
‘The hottest names are those of Kuhn of Celtic and Addai of AZ: this morning a last attempt will be made for the former, and if the negotiation does not unblock the Lombards will close for Addai, who is expected in these hours in Italy to visit the city and the club’s facilities before the final ok.
‘Should this hypothesis occur, however, it would not be a total black smoke for Kuhn: Como could try again late in the market if the German were to represent an opportunity.
‘The team coached by Fabregas, therefore, is preparing to close another blow forward.’

So, are Celtic facing a fresh but potentially final test of their resolve over Nicolas Kuhn? The Serie A side, backed by ambitious owners and mid-stream in a project headed up by Cesc Fabregas and have identified Kuhn as a target in their summer recruitment drive—but it seems they’re fast approaching the point of no return, that’s what they want Celtic to think it seems.
It seems Como will today make one last push to convince Celtic to do business. Should they fail, AZ Alkmaar’s Ernest Poku Addai is next on the list, with a deal for the Dutchman reportedly on standby and a visit to Italy already planned.

It’s understood Celtic are looking for a fee in the region of £15m to £17m—a figure which, at face value, appears modest for a player who registered 21 goals and 15 assists across all competitions last season. That includes notable performances in Europe, where Kuhn scored against Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and impressed throughout Celtic’s continental campaign.
Celtic may feel they are not under pressure to sell. Kuhn, previously played for RB Leipzig and having scored a brace against the German club in last season’s Champions League, his former club are also said to be keen on bringing him back to the Bundesliga, so there may be an element of Celtic biding their time hoping to encourage Leipzig to the negotiating table and starting a bidding war, but Celtic need to play this carefully, as a miffed Kuhn may not be the best for pre-season dressing room harmony, after all, we all have memories of The Wantaway Summer!

The timing of Como’s renewed approach is interesting, with Celtic set to face the Italians in a pre-season friendly later this month. There’s a very real possibility Kuhn could line up against the club trying to sign him or even against Celtic for his new club. Now that would be a bit weird.
Going by the quotes coming out of Italy, even if Como shift their focus now, the door isn’t permanently shut. Much may depend on how Celtic’s own summer shapes u and particularly if suitors like RB Leipzig, decide to act more decisively.

For now, the message from Celtic appears consistent: Kuhn isn’t for sale unless the offer is right. And if Como won’t meet their valuation today, they may have to make peace with watching him from the opposing bench later this month.
