Como Manager Fabregas Downplays Links to Milan and Roma

Cesc Fabregas liquidated the chatter about Milan and Roma but didn’t outright announce he would keep coaching Como next season in a pre-game presser (via TuttoSport).

“I’ve not been contacted by any side, as I’m completely focused on us. I can assure you that I didn’t receive any direct phone call. What we started this year forges ahead. My honesty and loyalty are toward president Mirwan Suwarso and the club.”

Fabregas didn’t completely quash all the rumours.

Our Take on Fabregas, Roma, and Milan

If it’s not this summer, he’ll land in a big team in the next one unless something odd happens or Como grow into one, which isn’t totally out of the question. It’ll be interesting to see whether top clubs will be scared off by what happened with Thiago Motta and Juventus, who was more experienced than him, and stay away from up-and-comers, or they’ll chalk it up to happenstance and his personality.
