Fikayo Tomori, in recent years, has often been the core of AC Milan’s defence, but this season, his importance has faded and a departure is probable.

In the past 12 months, there has been a constant idea that Tomori could leave Milan in the short future. During the summer, Newcastle United were the main threat, but nothing came to fruition as Pierre Kalulu departed.

Then, when the January mercato came around, the Englishman was hunted for by Juventus, but they were unsuccessful, leaving the defender at Milanello. But not for long, as Premier League clubs made attempts at the end of the window, and whilst the club agreed a sale, Tomori chose to stay with the Rossoneri.

Despite this, the idea of an exit continued to linger, and this afternoon, Calciomercato.com report that the defender is ‘increasingly’ likely to leave in June, despite his words last month, as he has effectively disappeared.

For Milan, the preference is to build around Malick Thiaw, Strahinja Pavlovic and Matteo Gabbia, leaving the Englishman open to an exit if a ‘convincing enough offer’ arrives.

The report also relays information from Tuttosport, which states that the former Chelsea defender would be more inclined to say yes to an exit this time around.
