AC Milan faced Dodo first hand during the 2-2 draw with Fiorentina on Saturday night at San Siro, and they were impressed by what they saw.
Dodo was among the most impressive players on the field as he terrorised Theo Hernandez down Fiorentina’s right flank. He regularly surged past opponents with his speed and dribbling ability, and was so close to scoring a brilliant winner with a volley late on, but was narrowly offside.
As Calciomercato.com write, in his performance against Milan at San Siro he gave vibes of ‘the prime version of Maicon’, showing the growth he has made in terms of ability but also mentality. His contract with La Viola will expire in 2027, but the negotiations for a renewal are still blocked.
The display ‘bewitched Milan’, who are waiting define the arrival of the new sporting director but are also keeping their radar fully switched on to try and identify players that could be useful for the new era.
Barcelona have also been interested in the Brazilian for a few weeks and have carried out more than one enquiry to understand the situation of the 26-year-old right back from Rio, whose valuation far exceeds €20m.
As a reminder, Milan reportedly have doubts about signing Kyle Walker permanently, while Emerson Royal was close to a winter exit and Alessandro Florenzi’s contract expires. Thus, they might soon be looking for a new starting right-back.
