Tammy Abraham will be a starter for the first time in the Champions League with AC Milan against Slovan Bratislava tomorrow, and he needs to start giving the management positive signs.

Calciomercato.com confirm that Abraham will get the nod to lead the line in the Slovakian capital due to Alvaro Morata’s suspension. The striker is highly motivated to make the most of a golden opportunity after being on the bench for the entire match against Juventus.

Abraham’s season under Paulo Fonseca has been rather up and down so far. He had a fast start with two excellent performances against Lazio and Inter, then got a goal against Venezia, the negative evening against Fiorentina and a goal against Cagliari before the international break.

This is not enough to automatically confirm that the directors will make an attempt to keep him permanently, but there is time to change things yet. In order to convince the decision-makers, goals and positive performances are needed.

Speaking of his future, Milan will hold talks with Abraham’s agent before the end of the year to take stock of the situation. Tammy must think about scoring goals, while Geoffrey Moncada and Zlatan Ibrahimovic ponder how they want the attack to look moving forward.

Performances on the field may not be enough for the former Chelsea man for two reasons: his €4m net per season salary is considered high given his current value, and it remains to be seen how much Roma will want for a permanent deal.

In the meantime, Milan are continuing to keep alive contacts for Santiago Gimenez of Feyenoord, who has been repeatedly linked and could be the man to take the reins of the department moving forward.
