Liverpool are to be given the green light to sign one of their top targets. That's despite his head coach not wanting it to happen.
Oliver Glasner spoke publicly on Marc Guehi's future ahead of the weekend. The Crystal Palace boss isn't in favour of losing his captain this late in the window.
"[Guehi] has to [be a Palace player when the window shuts]," said Glasner.

"It is not possible to find a Marc Guehi replacement who can play straight in the Premier League as a starter."
Now, that's a blow to Liverpool. The Reds are eager to sign Guehi as a long-term star for the squad. In essence, he's be a quick replacement for Ibrahima Konate, whose contract expires next year, but potentially for Virgil van Dijk down the line.
Guehi's contract also expires in 2026 and Palace aren't in a great position to lose him for free. However, that's almost certainly happening if they don't sell in the next few days.
Guehi isn't going to sign a new contract. It's either sell now for a cut-price fee - and risk not having a replacement - or get one more year out of him before bringing in nothing.
And, of course, needing to replace him without any incoming cash.
The BBC make it clear that despite Glasner's comments, Palace still want to sell Guehi. There have been talks with Liverpool over a £35m transfer and the Eagles are trying to sign two centre-backs in order to facilitate things.
It appears, then, that the club are willing to overrule their head coach on this one. Chairman Steve Parish has openly said he wants to sell the player as Palace aren't in a position to lose such a talent for nothing.
This really does promise to be one of the more interesting stories to end the window, then. Guehi is exactly the kind of player Liverpool need to bring in, eliminating concerns over Konate's contract situation and filling the homegrown quota.
But it'll come down to Palace's nerve here. With so little time remaining and the pressure ramping up, it could go one of two ways.
The pressure might force them to stick with Guehi as they can't afford to back themselves on finding a replacement. That would mean a deal is off.
But it could also see them drop that asking price further to strike a deal. Palace really don't want to lose him for free.
It sounds as though Glasner and Parish hold completely different opposite opinions on this one. We'll soon find out whose opinion means more.
