It’s end-of-season award time and we’ve selected and celebrated the difference-makers for each Premier League team throughout the campaign.

Choosing every Premier League team’s Player of the Season for 2024/25

Arsenal – Declan Rice

After a slow start to his second season, Declan Rice continued to prove why he was worth the record outlay for Arsenal. The midfielder has scored nine goals and provided 10 assists in all competitions, adding end product to his ball-winning, power and drive.

Outstanding across their Champions League quarter-final with Real Madrid, the 26-year-old has proven he can go toe-to-toe with the best. He doesn’t wear the armband, but Rice is the leader of this Arsenal side.

Aston Villa – Youri Tielemans

Having struggled to break into the Aston Villa side last season, Youri Tielemans has been irreplaceable for Unai Emery this time around.

Tielemans took his chance after the exit of Douglas Luiz last summer, becoming the metronomic tempo-setter of the Villa midfield.

Brentford – Bryan Mbeumo

Such has been Brentford’s performances this season, it’s easy to forget that the Bees lost talisman Ivan Toney last summer. Bryan Mbeumo has assumed that role, scoring 19 goals and creating seven more in the Premier League this season. Brentford are braced for summer interest.

Brighton – Jan Paul van Hecke

A model of consistency on the south coast, Jan Paul van Hecke has evolved into another gem of Brighton’s recruitment model.

The 24-year-old made his Netherlands debut in September and ranks among the Premier League’s top players for passes into the final third (5th), progressive passes (8th) and progressive carrying distance (1st).

Bournemouth – Dean Huijsen

Dean Huijsen arrived in the Premier League last summer as a largely unproven teenager. He departs a season later as Real Madrid’s latest capture and a £50m footballer.

The Spaniard has excelled at Bournemouth, so much so that almost every major club in Europe chased his signature before his transfer to the Bernabeu. The future’s bright.

Chelsea – Moises Caicedo

After a season to settle, Moises Caicedo has begun to live up to his record price tag this season. Chelsea’s best player this season, he leads the Premier League for possession won and has matched that ball-winning with intelligent distribution.

Caicedo is becoming increasingly well-rounded, sitting among the Premier League’s top 10 players for passes into the final third, interceptions, tackles, touches, and percentage of aerial duels won.

Crystal Palace – Daniel Munoz

Crystal Palace’s flying machine has thrived in Oliver Glasner’s wing-back system, rampaging regularly down the right flank.

Munoz has been directly involved in nine Premier League goals while ranking second in the division for tackles won. The assist for Palace’s winner in the FA Cup final has cemented his place in club folklore.

Everton – Iliman Ndiaye

Everton are a side that has lacked imagination in recent seasons and Iliman Ndiaye has been a breath of fresh air. The silkily-skilled Senegalese midfielder has injected freshness into the Blues, with a street footballer style.

A return of 11 goals in all competitions is an impressive return from the summer signing.

Fulham – Antonee Robinson

Antonee Robinson claimed Fulham’s Player of the Season accolade last term and he’s a good bet to make it back-to-back. The left-back’s game has come on leaps and bounds, adding an attacking threat to his athletic duel-winning. Robinson has provided 10 assists from full-back this season, more than any other defender.

Ipswich Town – Liam Delap

Ipswich Town’s return to the Premier League has lasted just a single season, but Liam Delap is unlikely to join The Tractor Boys in the second tier. Expect his £30m release clause to be activated, after a fine individual campaign that delivered 12 league goals. The 22-year-old is a bull of a centre-forward prospect.

Leicester City – Jamie Vardy

Even at 38, the Leicester legend looked one of the few players equipped for this level. A return of nine league goals took Vardy to 200 in all competitions for the Foxes, the perfect milestone before setting off into the sunset.

Liverpool – Mohamed Salah

Liverpool’s – and the league’s – best player this season. Mohamed Salah looks set for a clean sweep of individual honours, as the Premier League’s leading goalscorer and assist provider in the Reds’ title-winning side. The FWA award is in the bag and a record-breaking third PFA crown is expected to follow.

No player has ever produced more goal contributions in a 38-game league season.

Manchester City – Josko Gvardiol

Few standouts in a season that saw Manchester City fall well below expectations. Josko Gvardiol has arguably been the club’s most consistent performer, never shying away from his duties even when things were turbulent over the winter months.

Manchester United – Bruno Fernandes

Not for the first time, head and shoulders above those around him. Fernandes has scored 15 goals and laid on 13 assists in a struggling side while leading the Premier League for progressive passes and chances created. In what has been Manchester United’s worst season since 1974, he’s still been able to perform. Where would they be without him?

Newcastle United – Alexander Isak

The first Newcastle player to score 20+ goals in consecutive Premier League seasons, an achievement even Alan Shearer never managed in black and white. Alexander Isak is one of world football’s best number nines right now and the Magpies are grateful to have him. A Champions League return can ensure Newcastle hold on to the Swedish striker.

Nottingham Forest – Nikola Milenkovic

No shortage of contenders in a season of huge overachievement at Nottingham Forest. Chris Wood, Anthony Elanga, Morgan Gibbs-White, Matz Sels and Murillo all deserve mentions, but Nikola Milenkovic’s impact can not be overlooked.

The Serbian centre-back signed from Fiorentina last summer and immediately fixed frailties in the Forest backline. A powerful presence in both boxes, he’s helped transform a leaky defence into one of the league’s best. A £12m bargain.

Southampton – Tyler Dibling

Alongside Matheus Fernandes, one of two prospects who have performed while the Saints have struggled. Dibling is an excitement machine who gets the fans on their feet and at 18 looks set for a huge future. Following a record-breaking relegation, that may come away from St Mary’s.

Tottenham Hotspur – Lucas Bergvall

A shining light in a testing Tottenham season. Lucas Bergvall perhaps did not envisage such a prominent role this season but injuries and a will to succeed thrust him into the spotlight. Bergvall’s boundless energy was a driving force in Tottenham’s run to European success.

West Ham – Jarrod Bowen

Another bright spark in a struggling side. Jarrod Bowen has continued to excel even as those around him have floundered at the London Stadium. The West Ham captain has scored 12 goals and provided seven assists, with his omission from June’s England squad a surprise.

Wolves – Matheus Cunha

Matheus Cunha led the charge for Wolves as the club battled against relegation for much of the season. The Brazil international has scored 15 goals in the Premier League alone, has the biggest xG over-performance, and has drawn the second-highest number of fouls drawn. A big move beckons.
