After completing her season on loan with Arsenal, Chloe Kelly has granted a period of exclusivity to the Gunners with the hopes of securing a permanent transfer this summer.

Chloe Kelly joined Arsenal on loan from Manchester City in January but her move could become permanent ahead of next season.

Her 2024/25 campaign with the Gunners wasn’t the first time Kelly has played in North London, with the lifelong Arsenal fan making 19 appearances for the club between 2015 and 2018.

Kelly’s contract with Manchester City is set to expire at the end of June but the winger has been heavily linked with a move away in the transfer window.

Although she was only with Arsenal for half a season, Kelly was crowned a champion of Europe at the end of her campaign as the Gunners beat Barcelona in the Champions League final.

Speaking after the Champions League final, she said: “One minute I was thinking of taking a break from football, potentially a permanent one, and the next I was moving back down to London. From the moment I arrived at the club though, I knew it was the right move for me.

“I got my smile back. I was learning again, loving the game again. Even if we didn’t win the Champions League, it still would’ve been the best decision I could have made. But that win? That just made it unforgettable.”

After just six months on loan with the Gunners, the former City player seems to have found a new home and as a result of her success she has granted Arsenal exclusivity in the transfer market this summer.

Renee Slegers’ team will have to make a quick decision on whether or not they want to make Kelly’s transfer permanent, with multiple clubs in Europe and the US reportedly interested in signing the star.

Regardless of where Kelly will be playing next season, all eyes will be on the Lioness heading to Euro 2025 next month, as Sarina Wiegman selected the 27-year-old for her England squad.

The Arsenal loanee etched her name into he history books during England’s winning run at Euro 2022 with her extra time goal in the final securing a first ever major championship for English football.

Although she isn’t a prolific goalscorer for the Lionesses (one goal in both Euro 2022 and 2023 World Cup), Kelly has proved herself as a key squad player under Wiegman.
