Inter Milan are currently in Los Angeles. The Nerazzurri arrived yesterday, as they gear up for the start of the Club World Cup.

As the Gazzetta dello Sport note, there are still quite a few big names absent.

Lautaro Martinez, Denzel Dumfries, Benjamin Pavard, and Marcus Thuram will be back in training tomorrow. As will Italian internationals Nicolo Barella, Alessandro Bastoni, Federico Dimarco, and Davide Frattesi.

Therefore, all of those players have yet to have their first experience training under Cristian Chivu after the 44-year-old took over as coach from Simone Inzaghi.

Meanwhile, Hakan Calhanoglu, Yann Bisseck, and Franesco Pio Esposito are still recovering from injuries.

However, Chivu is already sinking his teeth into the team, with those players he has available.

The Gazzetta report that the signs have been positive from the Nerazzurri’s first training session in LA.

In particular, the newspaper note, the new coaching staff is clicking into place.

Most notably, the Gazzetta report, there is a positive rapport emerging between Mario Cecchi and Angelo Palombo.

Cecchi is a longtime collaborator of departed Inter coach Simone Inzaghi. The pair had worked together since Inzaghi’s time as Lazio coach.

However, Cecchi did not follow Inzaghi to Al-Hilal. Therefore, his presence behind the scenes gives Inter some tactical continuity.

Meanwhile, former Inter and Sampdoria midfielder Angelo Palombo was a key member of Chivu’s coaching staff at Parma.
