Chippa United wants to let go of a distinguished and key defender on their team!
Chippa United face the potential loss of established left-back Azola Ntsabo as contract renewal negotiations have reached an impasse. The 26-year-old defender, who joined the Eastern Cape club in 2022, has developed into a key component of their defensive unit in recent seasons.
Ntsabo's professional journey began at Ajax Cape Town's academy before progressing through the now-defunct Cape Town All Stars. His contributions last season included 15 appearances and a spectacular March 2025 free-kick against Polokwane City that earned Goal of the Month honors.
FARPost investigations reveal the breakdown in talks stems from irreconcilable differences between both parties regarding the proposed terms. This development comes amid significant squad changes under new head coach Sinethemba Badela and assistant Musa Nyatama.
The Chilli Boys have been active in the transfer market, securing Chad international Éric Mbangossoum and welcoming back former Sundowns midfielder Sammy Seabi, while simultaneously releasing eighteen players including high-profile names like Andile Jali. With Orlando Pirates duo Goodman Mosele and Azola Tshobeni also reportedly inbound, Ntsabo's potential departure would mark another significant change in Chippa's defensive roster as they prepare for the new campaign.
