Chelsea continue their FIFA Club World Cup campaign against Brazilian side Flamengo this evening.
The West Londoners opened the tournament with a 2-0 win over Los Angeles FC and could secure progress to the knockout rounds tonight. Goals from Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez sealed that success, while debutant Liam Delap came off the bench to set up the second goal.
Flamengo also began the tournament with a win, beating ES Tunis 2-0. The Brazilian outfit are under the management of ex-Chelsea defender Filipe Luis and have another former Blue, Jorginho, in their ranks.
Liam Delap will be hoping to have done enough to start this evening after making an impressing off the bench against LAFC. The summer signing crossed for fellow substitute Fernandez to steer in the second of the game. Both will hope to be in the starting side this time around.
Chelsea remain without Wesley Fofana who is recovering from a hamstring injury, while Mykhailo Mudryk remains suspended. The Ukraine winger is facing a potential four-year ban for a doping offence.
Raheem Sterling, Djordje Petrovic, Axel Disasi, and Joao Felix are all not with the squad as the quartet seek transfers away.
Chelsea predicted XI: Sanchez; James, Adarabioyo, Colwill, Cucurella; Fernandez, Caicedo; Neto, Palmer, Madueke; Delap.
Flamengo face Chelsea in the FIFA Club World Cup on Friday 20th June 2025. Kick-off 7pm BST.
In the UK, the game will not be televised live. Viewers can stream the game live on DAZN or channel5.com.
