Chelsea make the trip across the capital to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League this weekend.

Enzo Maresca’s side are searching for a first win in four games, following a dip in form across the festive period.

Maresca has insisted his side are a work in progress and dismissed their title credentials even amid a run of eight straight wins after November’s international break. The challenge now will be to restore confidence into his young side, with Newcastle and Manchester City chasing them down in the top-four race.

Chelsea face a Crystal Palace side who have lost only to Arsenal in their last eight games. Following a tricky start to the season, the Eagles have improved under Oliver Glasner.

Maresca is likely to return to his tried and tested this weekend after a rotated side lost at Ipswich on December 30th. Robert Sanchez and Nicolas Jackson are set to earn recalls to the side in place of Filip Jorgensen and Christopher Nkunku.

Maresca confirmed that Reece James will make his return at Selhurst Park with the Chelsea captain to feature after a hamstring issue. However, the Italian revealed that Wesley Fofana could miss the rest of the season. The injury-plagued Frenchman is facing a long spell out with a hamstring issue. Fellow centre-back Benoit Badisahile will not return until February.
