Chelsea are set to consider lodging a bid for Hincapié, but they are in danger of facing an uphill battle, according to GiveMeSport.

Hincapié has a release clause worth in the region of €60million written into his contract, therefore an outright purchase is available.

The Blues could activate it, but they are running out of time to thrash out negotiations if they choose to up the ante.

Meanwhile, fellow Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are said to be interested in the 23-year-old.

The 46-cap Ecuador international has made over 165 appearances for Leverkusen since joining from Talleres in August 2021.
