Blues looking to play themselves out of recent funk as cup returns
Chelsea must today play themselves back into form when they host League Two side Morecambe in the FA Cup third round.
The Blues had looked on course for a sensational Premier League title bid up until a few weeks ago but things have stalled for Enzo Maresca’s side in recent games.
Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace extended their winless to four games, leaving them just a point ahead of fifth-placed Newcastle in the table.
Still, they will feel confident about reaching the fourth-round of this competition.
Such is the strength in depth at Stamford Bridge, Maresca has been able to make sweeping changes in cup competitions this season.
With all due respect to The Shrimps, even a heavily rotated Chelsea side will be expected to win.
Here’s everything you need to know about the game.
Chelsea FC vs Morecambe is scheduled for a 3pm GMT kick-off time today, Saturday, January 11, 2025.
Stamford Bridge in London will host.
TV channel and live stream: The game will not be broadcast in the UK as it has not been selected for TV coverage. It takes place during the 3pm blackout imposed across English football too, so could not be shown live anyway.

Chelsea will be without Benoit Badiashile, Wesley Fofana and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall for their FA Cup third round home game against Morecambe, manager Enzo Maresca said on Friday.
Fofana and Badiashile are out with long-term injuries while midfielder Dewsbury-Hall, who has made only five appearances for Chelsea since he joined in July, will also be on the sidelines through injury. However, both Reece James and Romeo Lavia will be available for Saturday's match.
It would not be a surprise to see youngsters such as Josh Acheampong, Marc Guiu and Tyrique George start.

It would be a major shock to see Chelsea slip up here.
The second string will be on show and should have no trouble dispatching the goal-shy Shrimps, who have no scored in six trips on the trot.
