Chelsea welcome Brentford to Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Sunday evening.
The Blues are targeting a seventh successive win in all competitions and will hope to capitalise on slips from Liverpool and Arsenal on Saturday. A win for Enzo Maresca’s team will take them within two points of the top.
Maresca rested his senior stars for Thursday’s trip to Kazakhstan in the Europa Conference League. Pedro Neto misses out through suspension this weekend, though Mykhailo Mudryk should return from illness. Wesley Fofana and Reece James remain sidelined.
For Brentford, Vitaly Janelt should return after missing out last weekend, though Mathias Jensen is unlikely to feature due to a hamstring injury.

Chelsea have found real form under Enzo Maresca and are on a run of six straight wins. Last weekend, the Blues showed their powers of recovery to beat Tottenham having trailed 2-0 in North London. Cole Palmer scored twice from the spot, including an audacious Panenka penalty.
Chelsea could become the first team in the Premier League this season to win five consecutive league games. However, the Blues have not beaten Brentford in the last five meetings between the teams.

Brentford’s home and away form could hardly be more different. The Bees have taken more points on home soil than any other team in the Premier League this season but just one on the road. Only Southampton can match that torrid record.
Last weekend, Brentford beat Newcastle 4-2 in West London as Thomas Frank opted for an uber-attacking lineup. Bryan Mbeumo and Yoanne Wissa have thrived in life post-Ivan Toney, while Igor Thiago’s return offers another option. Sorting out the club’s travel sickness will be high on Frank’s agenda.
An entertaining meeting ended all square as Axel Disasi rescued a result for Chelsea. Nicolas Jackson had opened the scoring for the visitors at the Gtech but Brentford bounced back to turn the game around.
Mads Roerslev equalised soon after half-time, before an acrobatic Yoanne Wissa effort fired the Bees ahead. However, slack marking allowed Disasi to head in from Cole Palmer’s cross late on.
Chelsea: Sanchez; Gusto, Badiashile, Colwill, Cucurella; Caicedo, Fernandez, Palmer; Madueke, Sancho, Jackson.
Brentford: Flekken; Roerslev, Collins, Pinnock, Van den Berg; Norgaard, Janelt; Mbeumo, Damsgaard, Lewis-Potter; Wissa.
Chelsea host Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday 15th December 2024. Chelsea vs Brentford is not available to watch live in the UK. The game was moved to Sunday evening due to the Blues’ involvement in Europe on Thursday night.
Kick-off at Stamford Bridge is 19:00 GMT.
