The Chelsea striker saga has taken a major twist after a new turn of events, and it’s positive news for The Blues this time.

This news comes after Chelsea got a vital three points on Friday night against Manchester United in what was a crucial win for the race for Champions League football next season.

One Chelsea legend Gary Cahill was at the match and he has hailed one key player in the game as being one of the best in Europe after his influence on the match.

It’s been common news now that Chelsea are keen on signing Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap this summer, but they face real competition.

Delap is a very talented young striker and has many admirers and potential suitors, two of which are also in the Premier League in the shape of Manchester United and Newcastle United.

United move in jeopardy

The Daily Express are reporting that Manchester United’s chances of securing the signature of Liam Delap this summer have surely been thrown into jeopardy following their Europa League final defeat to Tottenham on Wednesday night. The message has been loud and clear throughout the transfer saga so far – the 22-year-old wants to play European football next season.

They go on to mention Chelsea and Newcastle as having more of a chance now to land the signing of Delap. But of course, Chelsea must first secure Champions League football themselves this Sunday by beating Forest!
