Chelsea are one of five clubs interested in signing Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher in the summer according to reports.

The January window may have only shut last week, but that hasn’t stopped rumours already beginning about summer transfers.

The Blues only made one signing in the window with midfielder Mathis Amougou arriving from St Etienne for £12.5m, whilst six players left.

It was no secret the Blues wanted to sign an attacker, but despite being linked with Mathys Tel, Alejandro Garnacho and Liam Delap nothing materialised.

Winger and striker are said to be the club’s priorities for the summer window, but many fans would like to see a new keeper arrive.

Robert Sanchez has struggled this season and has continued to make costly errors, and the Spain international was booed by supporters after his most recent mistake in last month’s defeat against Manchester City.

Maresca took the decision to drop the Spaniard for the win against West Ham last week, with Filip Jorgensen taking his place.

A new goalkeeper could be a possibility in the summer and Chelsea have been linked with Borussia Dortmund’s Gregor Kobel.

However, TBR Football have reported the Blues are one of five clubs interested in signing Liverpool shot stopper Kelleher.

The report adds Kelleher is expected to leave Anfield in the summer with Giorgi Mamardashvili arriving from Valencia.

TBR Football state that Nottingham Forest, Newcastle, Bournemouth and Scottish champions Celtic are the other clubs interested.

Kelleher has made 17 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool this season, keeping eight cleans sheets, with the Republic of Ireland international clearly good enough to be a number one.

The 26-year-old would represent an upgrade between the sticks for the Blues and he would also bring Premier League experience with him.

Kelleher’s current deal expires in 2026, meaning come the summer he will have just one year remaining, which presents interested parties with the opportunity to secure a cut price deal.
