It’s been a difficult season for the Blues but somewhat of a late season resurgence has seen them in with a chance of securing a top six finish and Europa league football next season.

Terry calls on owners to be patient with Pochettino

Despite the upturn in form and Todd Boehly describing the last two and half games as what he envisioned the team to play like earlier this week, the speculation over the Argentine’s future is ramping up.

Pochettino signed a two year contract last summer and the plan has always been to sit down with the club’s hierarchy at the end of the season to discuss his future.

Several managers the Blues have been linked with as possible replacements including Sporting Lisbon’s Ruben Amorim have stated they will be staying at their current clubs.

Terry has called on the Chelsea’s owners to give Pochettino time.

However, Terry who is currently working as a coach in the club’s academy has urged the owners to have patience with Pochettino and insisted the club needs stability.

“I think (Pochettino) has done well”, Terry told The Mirror while participating in Padel Aid.

“It was always going to be difficult right from the outset, we were a very young group of players from the outset.

“There were a lot of signings and a big clear out in the summer of not only players but staff as well, there was a big turnaround and obviously Poch is new in the door.

“I have seen him work, I love the way he works, I love the way he is with the players, he certainly needs a bit of time.

“And I think we have seen that in the last couple of weeks, the better performances we have seen, the players growing into their roles and feeling like they belong at Chelsea as well.

“That is also going to take time and I just think we need to be patient, I think every club needs stability.

‘We have been very lucky at Chelsea, for 20 years we have had success year after year after year.

“We have got a young squad and we look like we have got some really good players at the moment that can grow into their roles, hopefully next season will be better.”

It remains to be seen if Pochettino will continue at Stamford Bridge, but it feels like another change of manager would just set the club back again.
