The youngster needs first team playing experience and she will now further her development in Scotland with Aberdeen this season.

Speaking to Aberdeen’s official media team after signing on with the club, Cox said “I’m delighted to be here. This will be a great experience for me, and I can’t wait to get going.

“Last season, I took in so much being around the first team set up at Chelsea, and now I can’t wait to show what I’ve learned. It is a chance for me to really develop, and hopefully I can help the team out.

“I am ready for a challenge, and I really want to push myself. I can see lots of potential in this team, I can see where I can help us out, and I think it could be the start of a good thing.

“All the girls are lovely, I’m beginning to feel settled in, and I’m ready to get to work.”

The deal sees Cox go out on loan for the first time in her career.
