EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea tried to sign Wolves striker on deadline day!!

They didn’t sign any new players, but there was plenty of situations that caused some drama and entertainment, namely the situation of Nicolas Jackson.

His loan move to Bayern Munich was on, then off, then on again and it was a bit of a messy situation. In the end though, they finally got the move done and Jackson joins Bayern on a season long loan deal.

But then there was another bizarre situation that has just got much stranger this morning after Chelsea’s latest announcement.

Left back Ben Chilwell joined Strasbourg on a permanent deal. Many wondered how he was going there because Chelsea had sold their sister club another left back earlier in the window, Ishe Samuels-Smith. So they wanted two left backs? Apparently not.

In a strange turn of events, the young left back was re-signed by Chelsea on deadline day, and then confirmation has just come now from the club that they have sent him out on loan to Swansea City for the season!

The report says that Ishe Samuels-Smith has completed a season-long loan to Championship side Swansea City, having rejoined Chelsea from Strasbourg.

All very normal activity then!

Did they do this so Chilwell could join Strasbourg and get his high wages off the books? Or maybe Samuels-Smith wanted to come back? Who knows, but it’s all rather strange and without any clarification or explanation by the club as to what is happening.
