The Blues want the teenager to continue his development in England.

Chelsea want Spanish striker Marc Guiu to go on loan to an English club ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The Blues are ready to sanction a loan move for the 19-year-old before the end of the summer transfer window, with their priority being for him to join an English club, as per Fabrizio Romano via X.

Guiu joined Chelsea from Barcelona in a deal worth £5 million last summer, and with his contract not set to expire until 2029, it is clear that he is seen as one for the future in West London.

The striker featured in the Premier League, the FA Cup, the EFL Cup and the Club World Cup last season, while he also scored six goals in seven appearances during Chelsea's UEFA Europa Conference League winning run.

Guiu was reportedly not convinced about the prospect of joining Championship side Ipswich Town on loan earlier this summer, but now that Chelsea have made it clear they want him to continue his development in England, clubs in the second tier should be alert to his potential availability.

With that in mind, let's take a look at three clubs that should consider making a swoop to sign Guiu on a temporary basis.

Ipswich Town

Ipswich Town were first linked with a loan move for Guiu in May, but after it was reported that he was not sold on the idea of spending the 2025/26 season in the Championship, it seemed as though that ship might have sailed for the Tractor Boys.

However, after Fabrizio Romano revealed that Chelsea want the 19-year-old to go out on loan to an English club, Kieran McKenna may have renewed hopes of bringing the striker to Portman Road.

Ipswich are slightly short of forward options as things stand following Liam Delap's move to Chelsea, so signing a player with Guiu's quality on a season-long loan would be a shrewd piece of business.

Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough boss Rob Edwards is in need of a new striker this summer as he prepares to mount a promotion push in the Championship next season.

It was revealed that former West Ham United man Danny Ings is one of the forward options being explored by Boro earlier this month, but the 33-year-old has divided opinions within the club's fan base, as per TeessideLive.

If Middlesbrough want a younger striker with something to prove rather than opting for an experienced professional like Ings, they could consider making a move to sign Guiu on loan from Chelsea.

Edwards looks likely to deploy his favoured two-strikers approach at the Riverside Stadium next term, and with just Tommy Conway as his only natural senior centre-forward option, Boro could really do with another natural option in that department to play alongside him.

Guiu has been linked with a move to Teesside previously too, suggesting that Boro may well be keen to revisit the possibility of acquiring his signature this summer.

Swansea City

Swansea City could benefit from signing another out-and-out striker before the end of the transfer window, especially with Jerry Yates being linked to other clubs.

Signing Guiu on loan would be a real statement of intent from the Swans, and a temporary move to South Wales could give him the platform to be a regular starter and prove his worth in the Championship next term, before returning to Stamford Bridge ready to really push for a bigger role.

Swansea have helped to develop a couple of Chelsea players in recent years, most notably defender Marc Guehi, while Guiu could follow in the footsteps of Fabio Borini and Tammy Abraham by leading the line for the Swans whilst on loan from the Blues.
