Pedro Neto believes he’s not performing at his best yet despite impressing for Chelsea in recent weeks, which isn’t good news for opposition defenders.

The Portugal international was Chelsea’s most expensive summer signings as they paid Wolves an initial £51.4m for his services.

Neto was one of three high profile attacking signings along with Jadon Sancho and Joao Felix and he certainly looks like the most successful at this early stage.

Neto warns he’s not at his best yet

It was a slow start to the season for Neto as he found his feet at Chelsea, and he initially found himself on the bench for Premier League games, with the majority of his minutes coming in the cup competitions.

However, in recent weeks he’s upped his performances and has started the last three Premier League games against Newcastle, Manchester United and Arsenal following a successful second half performance against Liverpool.

Chelsea haven’t looked their fluid best in attack in the last two games, but Neto has stood out and has arguably been the most dangerous attacker in the side.

He scored his first Premier League goal for the Blues with a brilliant strike to earn a point against Arsenal and it looks like he’s starting to find his best form.

What’s great about Neto is that he can play on both the left and right wing although former Premier League striker Troy Deeney believes he’s limited when he plays on the left.

Despite Neto’s good form in recent weeks he reiterated he’s not in his best shape and is working hard to ensure he gets there.

“I don’t think I’m in my best shape yet, I’m working to get there, and I work every day to get in shape to be the best player I can be,” he told A Bola as cited on X.com.

“That’s what I’ll continue to do, and I hope to be even better.”

Neto is currently away with Portugal on international duty, but one thing that’s now clear is whether he’s on the left or right he needs to be in Chelsea’s starting line-up.
