It was a somewhat chaotic encounter for Torino and Inter this evening, because play was interrupted by a medical emergency, then by a thunderstorm with hail, causing a 30-minute half-time break and pitch inspection.
The problems were straight off the bat at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, because barely 120 seconds into the match, fans in the Curva Maratona behind the goal warned players that they required medical assistance.
A Torino supporter had fallen and needed help for a neck injury, but play resumed after five minutes when he was taken away for treatment.
Nicola Zalewski then put the visitors in front with a sensational goal, selling Gvidas Gineitis a dummy with his back-heel flick before bending the right-foot curler into the far bottom corner from outside the area.

The heavens then opened over Turin, making play increasingly difficult due to heavy rainfall, thunder, strong winds and at times even hail.
Referee Federico La Penna interrupted play at the 43rd minute to discuss the situation with the two captains, eventually resuming to see out the half.

The rain continued during the break, so La Penna came back out again for another pitch inspection, seeing if the ball bounced and rolled in all areas of the turf.
After a 30-minute pause in play rather than the usual 15 due to the conditions, Torino and Inter finally managed to start the second half.
