AC Milan made it three wins in a row across all competitions on Monday night, coming from behind to beat Genoa 2-1.

After an opening 45 minutes in which the goalkeepers shone above the outfield players, the game burst into life in the second half. Vitinha came off the bench to open the scoring with a volley, before Rafael Leao and an own-goal turned the game on its head inside two minutes.

While Milan may not have lots to fight for in the league, the objective is to arrive at May 14’s Coppa Italia final in the best possible form, and in that sense another win from behind is a confidence boost.

Starting with La Gazzetta dello Sport’s ratings, they have given Milan’s overall performance a 6.5 out of 10, with Sergio Conceicao receiving a 7 for his in-game changes which made the difference ultimately.

Speaking of which, Rafael Leao was the man of the match in their eyes given he scored one and had a hand in the winner, earning a 7.5, while Luka Jovic struggled to get into the game and was given a 5.

Praise was dished out to Mike Maignan and Joao Felix (both a 7) as well as Matteo Gabbia, Tijjani Reijnders and Santiago Gimenez (6.5). Strahinja Pavlovic, Alex Jimenez and Theo Hernandez got a 5.5, and Christian Pulisic a 5.

Corriere dello Sport praised Maignan and Leao (7) as well as Gimenez off the bench (6.5). Everyone else was given a 6 apart from Pavlovic (5.5) and Jovic (5).

Tuttosport also gave Maignan a 7 as well as Leao. Jovic was awarded a 5, and everyone else barring Pavlovic (5.5) got a passing grade.
