Sudan pulled off the biggest upset of CHAN 2024 by demolishing Nigeria 4-0 on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, in Zanzibar during the tournament’s second matchday. This emphatic victory propels the Jediane Falcons to the top of Group D and eliminates the Super Eagles from the competition.

The homegrown Jediane Falcons dominated Nigeria in every aspect during this Group D clash at Zanzibar’s Amaan Stadium. The local Nile Crocodiles scored four times, including a brace from Yagoub, and sent the Super Eagles packing.

The Sudanese side dealt a crushing blow to the local Super Eagles, recording a resounding 4-0 scoreline. In the 25th minute, Nigeria’s Leonard Ngenge put the ball into his own net after a strike from Abdel Raouf Yagoub.
