Real Madrid travel to Galicia to take on Celta Vigo at the Balaidos on Saturday night in what will be their first game after the international break.

They enter the game as favourites despite their average form in recent games but must be wary of the threat given Celta Vigo’s decent start to the season.

Ahead of the game, Carlo Ancelotti spoke to the media and gave a comprehensive update on the squad, injury returnees and the situation of Kylian Mbappe revealing that several players were back in the squad after recovering from minor niggles.

Celta Vigo manager praises Real Madrid

Speaking to the media ahead of Celta Vigo’s clash against Real Madrid, the Galician side’s manager Claudio Giraldez spoke on Carlo Ancelotti’s side and the danger they posed.

“They have a lot of individual talent physically and technically with a competitive level and a mentality that is what makes the difference.”

Elaborating on the club he played at for seven seasons as a player in his youth days, the manager said,

“That means that when they are well, they crush you, and when they are not, they can hurt you anyway and win the game in one action.”

“They are unique in the world and that is why they have won so much, because of that mentality of being able to adapt to the context that there is,” he added.

Speaking on his team’s gameplan against the UEFA Champions League winners, Giraldez revealed that his men hoped to dominate the proceedings.

“We don’t want them to run us, not take up large spaces, it will be important that they can’t pass us too much. We have to get out of their first pressure and be able to dominate the game.”

Finally, he gave his two cents on how it is vital to be alert throughout the game against teams like Real Madrid who viciously latch onto any small lapse in concentration.

“Real Madrid are capable of doing anything, they have the resources to hurt you by dominating the ball or not, and are able to defend you at different heights with a number of variables that are very difficult to control.”

“I know what I want to happen, what is going to happen is difficult to guess,” he concluded.
