Milan have concluded that losing their captain Davide Calabria on a free transfer at the end of the season is an extremely likely prospect, as they still haven’t found an agreement to extend his current deal.
Calabria only played for the Rossoneri since making his competitive debut in 2015 and established himself as a regular starter at the San Siro, but his status has recently changed, as proved by his only three starts across all competitions under coach Paulo Fonseca this season.
Corriere dello Sport reports that everything suggests this will be the full-back’s last season at the club, as talks for a contract extension have been stalling in recent months, and the Rossoneri will make no exception on their policy, which saw them hold firm in negotiations with many other players in the past.

If things play out as expected, Calabria would add to the list of those Milan players leaving the club at the end of their contract after having worn the captain’s armband, as already happened with Gianluigi Donnarumma, Riccardo Montolivo and Massimo Ambrosini.
