Manchester United are inching closer to a deal for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, as per recent reports, with the gap in valuation between both clubs almost filled.

Journalist Rudy Galetti has claimed that there were fresh discussions between both Premier League clubs today, and it seems the meeting was a fruitful one.

There is no chance of a late hijack from Tottenham Hotspur, and the deal is very likely to go through rather than fall apart close to the finishing line.

“Fresh, intense talks in recent hours between Man UTD and Brentford for Mbeumo have been very positive: the gap between clubs now is almost closed.

Mbeumo deal close to completion

“Deal not sealed yet, but sources insist it’s far more likely to go through than fall apart,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

The Red Devils had submitted an opening offer of an initial £45 million plus another £10 million in add-ons but it was swiftly rejected by the Bees.

They were holding out for a fee in the region of more than £60 million, and it seems the 20-time English league champions are finally ready to comply.

Personal terms between both Bryan Mbeumo and United were agreed weeks back with the Cameroonian reportedly demanding a five-fold increase from £50,000 to £250,000 per week to sign on the dotted line.

Amorim’s new-look attack

United have already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers, and with Mbeumo’s signing, Ruben Amorim will have his two new attacking midfielders.

They will not only add creativity to the frontline, but both can alternate as strikers if needed, which will be another huge boost.

Once the signing is completed, INEOS is likely to focus on outgoings with Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony among those likely to depart.

After that, a striker will be targeted and if money permits, a goalkeeper and even a midfielder on loan.
