Goalkeeper Sam Long was the hero as he saved two Ipswich penalties, leaving Marcus Ifill to fire home the winning spot-kick as the League Two side triumphed 5-4 after a 1-1 draw.

The game got off to a fast start, with Bromley's Deji Elerewe and Ipswich's Chiedozie Ogbene trading opportunities inside the opening two minutes.

Just before the interval, a free-flowing movement led by Jack Clarke saw Leif Davis' cross find Conor Chaplin, but he fired just over.

Ipswich were punished for that miss when Elerewe headed in a Bromley corner to give the home side the lead on the stroke of half-time.

Ipswich did not have to wait long for the equaliser, Ben Johnson smashing home eight minutes after the restart after Chaplin had hit the crossbar.

Bromley came roaring back and Marcus Dinanga should have done better than shoot straight at Christian Walton.

Long then denied Johnson at the other end with a fantastic fingertip save.

Three minutes from time Long kept out Sam Szmodics and right at the death Ali Al-Hamadi failed to turn in Johnson's cross before more heroics from Long in the shootout sent Bromley through.
