Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Stefanović signs new deal | OneFootball

Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Dejana Stefanović has signed a new contract with the club ahead of the 2024/2025 season.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Seagulls this afternoon.

Stefanović joined Brighton & Hove Albion in the January 2023 transfer window after leaving Norwegian Toppserien club Valerenga. The 27-year-old Serbian international midfielder has struggled with injuries since arriving in England. Stefanović has been limited to just eight appearances for Brighton & Hove Albion in the Barclays Women’s Super League so far.

Despite the player’s unfortunate record with injuries, Brighton & Hove Albion recognise her importance to the team and they have agreed to retain her services for an extended period.

After agreeing a new deal with Stefanović, Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Dario Vidošić said “We’re pleased that Dejana has extended her stay with us at Brighton.

“Although we’ve not worked together that long, her level of determination and ambition to succeed is apparent.

“She’s had a difficult start to her career at the club due to injury, but I’m excited to work with her this season ahead as she looks to progress.”

Stefanović is the first player to agree a contract extension at Brighton & Hove Albion this summer.
