According to Fabrizio Romano, the Bees are considering an approach for the player but no talks have yet taken place.

The winger has spent the last two seasons at Portman Road, featuring prominently in Kieran McKenna’s side.

He initially joined on loan from Chelsea in 2023, before signing on a permanent basis the following summer after Ipswich gained promotion to the Premier League.

Brentford reportedly "appreciate" Hutchinson’s talent, and are weighing up an attempt to bring him to the club this summer.

It is understood that no talks have yet taken place between the two clubs, with the Bees seeing the 21-year-old as a possible replacement for Bryan Mbeumo if the talismanic winger leaves West London this summer.

Hutchinson was a key part of the Ipswich squad last season, but relegation to the Championship has led to speculation over his future.

It was reported earlier this summer that the forward has a release clause in his contract worth £35 million.

However, it remains to be seen whether Brentford would be willing to pay that kind of fee, or if they will be looking to negotiate a lower price for the youngster.

Mbeumo’s future is also uncertain, with Manchester United currently linked with a deal for the Cameroon international.

Omari Hutchinson’s importance to Ipswich Town amid Brentford links

Hutchinson has made 75 league appearances for Ipswich over the last two seasons, contributing 13 goals and six assists.

He was a pivotal part of the club’s promotion to the Premier League in 2024, scoring 10 from 44 games.

However, his tally of three Premier League was not enough to keep the Suffolk outfit in the top flight.

Hutchinson has a contract with Ipswich until the summer of 2029 after his £18 million move last year.

Ipswich Town will want big fee for Omari Hutchinson amid Brentford links

The existence of a release clause in Hutchinson’s contract makes this deal potentially quite straightforward.

Either Brentford will pay the £35 million, or Ipswich will surely do everything they can to hold onto the player. He's under contract for another four years, which means Ipswich are under no pressure to sanction a sale unless it's entirely on their terms.

They may be tempted into negotiating a deal below the clause, but they surely won’t want to go any lower than £30 million.

If Brentford do sell Mbeumo, then Ipswich will know they have money to spend this summer given they’ve already turned down £62.5 million for the forward.

The Tractor Boys will, after all, envisage Hutchinson as a key player for their upcoming Championship promotion bid after his starring role in their most recent second-tier campaign, and his age alongside his release clause both mean Ipswich will only part with an incredibly-handsome figure for the former Arsenal and Chelsea prodigy's services.
