Liverpool have officially completed the transfer of 17‑year‑old striker Will Wright from Salford City.
The teenager has taken up an initial three-year contract and will begin life at Anfield within Rob Page’s Under‑21 squad.
Wright impressed Salford by scoring more than 50 goals across youth and B team levels last season and made his senior debut in a defeat to Port Vale in February.
Despite high-level interest—with Arsenal reportedly offering up to £250,000 plus add-ons—Wright chose Liverpool, who agreed a fee of around £200,000 plus potential bonuses, matching the player’s preference to remain in the North West.
Although Wright is unlikely to feature in the senior side during the 2025–26 season, he will also be eligible to represent Liverpool’s Under‑19s in the UEFA Youth League, offering valuable exposure on a continental stage.
Liverpool’s latest move underscores their long‑term strategy of investing early in high‑ceiling prospects. Wright joins the growing cohort of youth signings aimed at shaping the club’s future, following in the footsteps of academy talents such as Rio Ngumoha and Trey Nyoni.
As the youngster settles in, all eyes will be on how he develops within one of England’s most renowned youth systems. Supporters will hope this represents the start of another success story for Liverpool’s academy.
