In a U21 contest, Manchester United youngster Sekou Kone suffered a head injury that rendered him unable to continue.
On Wednesday evening, the Red Devils were involved in a U21 National League Cup game against Tamworth. Sadly for Kone, his outing ended prematurely due to a clash of heads.
According to The Manchester Evening News correspondent Steven Railston, the 19-year-old received treatment on the pitch following the incident. Afterwards, he stood up, before going down to the ground once more, potentially due to the advice of the medical team.
The journalist reveals that the referee ended the first half while the teenager was still receiving treatment.
Kone had to be admitted to the hospital through an ambulance after being stretchered off the pitch while holding a mask to his face. Surprisingly, the match was then abandoned due to the lack of an alternative ambulance at the ground.

The 19-year-old is a Malian defensive midfielder who started his career at Guidars FC. Kone was then poached by Man Utd a year ago.
Kone almost immediately cemented himself as one of the most talented youngsters at Carrington. Last season, he made 12 appearances in the Premier League 2, contributing with two goals and a single assist. He has also been praised for his ‘unplayable’ displays in the middle of the park, but his number of appearances were limited by an injury suffered on his debut for the U21 team.
Moreover, Ruben Amorim called him up to the first team on several occasions, but he has yet to make his senior debut.
We can only hope that the young man’s condition isn’t serious and that he makes a rapid return to the pitch.
