Carlos Augusto feels that Inter Milan can “go all the way” at the FIFA Club World Cup tournament this summer.
Speaking to journalists, via FCInterNews, the Brazilian gave his thoughts ahead of today’s match against Urawa Red Diamonds.
Inter Milan take on Urawa Red Diamonds in the Club World Cup this evening. The Japanese team will be their second opponent of the group stage.
The Nerazzurri drew 1-1 with Mexican side Monterrey in their first match of the group stage.
Therefore, it is clearly important to record a win against Urawa Reds.
Inter’s final match of the group stage, meanwhile, comes against Argentine giants River Plate. That match next week could be a real marquee clash, and decisive for reaching the knockouts.
Inter Milan certainly won’t want to bomb out of the tournament at the group stage.
The knockout rounds will be lucrative on a financial level. And furthermore, an important opportunity to send a message and bounce back after the Champions League final.

Inter Milan wingback Carlos Augusto gave his thoughts on the tournament.
“As a new competition, it’s important for everyone,” he said.
“Watching the last few matches, we’ve seen the strength of the Brazilian and Argentine teams,” Augusto noted.
The 26-year-old added that “there have been some surprise results.”
“But I was talking to Luis Henrique. We know that there are strong teams.”
“If we’re here we have to play to win. I trust the new coaching staff that have come in, and the group that we have.”
Augusto stated that “we’ve shown a lot this season, but we haven’t managed to win any trophies.”
The Brazilian made clear that “we can go all the way” at the Club World Cup.
“We always have to believe in it. We have a great team.”
