Sport Bild reports that Borussia Dortmund winger Julien Duranville will miss several months with a shoulder dislocation. The 19-year-old incurred a shoulder injury in Dortmund’s loss against Real Madrid that saw BVB eliminated in the Club World Cup quarterfinals. An official confirmation of Duranville’s diagnosis from his Bundesliga club is still lacking.
The German tabloid nevertheless claims that the BVB medical staff is currently tending towards surgery. Duranville’s development has been hindered by a series of muscular injuries in the past. To date, he’s made just 24 first team appearances for die Schwarzgelben since joining from RSC Anderlecht in the January 2023 transfer window.
Duranville still seems on his way up during the 2024/25 cycle, earning two caps for his native Belgium at senior level, registering his first Bundesliga assist, and making nine appearances for Dortmund in the Champions League. The news counts as another piece of hard luck for the €8.5m-valued player.
