Big surprise: De Sa confirms his departure from Cape Town Spurs after a month!
Last season was not a good one for Urban Warriors as after being relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship, fate had to deal with them being relegated to the ABC Motsepe League after finishing 15th with only 30 points.
The Cape Town-based club won just six matches, drew 12 and lost 12 under Ernst Middendorp before Roger De Sa took over as manager. De Sa only recently announced his departure from the club after just a few weeks in charge.
Following CT Spurs' relegation to amateur football, Ernst Middendorp has exited the club to assume the position of technical director at Durban City FC.
Meanwhile, Spurs have moved to strengthen their technical structure by appointing former Orlando Pirates coach Roger de Sa as their new technical director. De Sa, who most recently served as assistant coach at Cape Town City under Diogo Peral after Muhsin Ertugral's dismissal, is set to take on another role as assistant to Carlos Queiroz with the Oman national team.
The 60-year-old confirmed his new assignment to FARPost, stating: "I've already joined the Oman national team for the World Cup qualifiers. Everything is going well."
With these changes in place, Spurs now face the urgent task of appointing a new head coach as they aim to secure immediate promotion back to South Africa's second division.
