Brendan Rodgers’ side were impressive 4-1 winners on Saturday night but there were less than 650 Celtic fans in attendance.

Empty Seats at Tynecastle

The group took to Instagram to share their frustrations at the lack of availability for away tickets while Hearts have empty seats in their own end.

Celtic received just over 600 tickets for the game, meaning that thousands of regular away supporters were left empty handed. The sight of empty seats across the Hearts end will have been a sickening sight for fans that had hoped to get a last minute ticket to the game.

Safety concerns

Hearts, who said they made the decision due to interest from their own fans, further reduced the allocation due to safety concerns, leaving banners on the right corner closest to the main stand covered by banners.

Fans that were lucky enough to get a ticket were allegedly subjected to missiles being thrown in – something that was repeated by Hearts fans towards Celtic’s Irish striker Adam Idah. The Irishman had the last laugh and he was able to net a brace and silence the Jambos.

Celtic have been pressed to review the away ticket situation, which Bhoys Celtic correctly identify as being an issue that has caused division within the support. However, due to the insufficient away allocations, the club appear to be reluctant to make any changes.

Maybe our last trip to Tynecastle this season

Given Hearts’ position within the league at the moment it seems unlikely that we will be back there again this season on league duties. They have more to worry about staying in the league rather than making the top six!
