Four teams blank in FPL Gameweek 29 due to the 2024-25 Carabao Cup final.
The game between Liverpool and Newcastle United rules out two of the most-owned players in FPL, Mo Salah and Alexander Isak.
So, who are the top 10 FPL picks by predicted points ahead of FPL Gameweek 28?

AI fancies Arsenal as they host Chelsea at home, with two assets from the Gunners making up this top 10. Leandro Trossard has become a regular starter with injuries depleting their attack, producing 10 goal involvements for the season: four goals and six assists. It’s been a lean spell in recent games though, with just one assist in the last four gameweeks, a period where his side have scored just three goals in total.
Bournemouth’s Justin Kluivert remains their top fantasy asset for the season by some margin, with 12 goals and six assists in this campaign. The return from injury for Evanilson didn’t hinder his output last time out, with one goal and two assists from the last four gameweeks. Kluivert has an excellent record from the penalty spot, converting on six occasions this season.
Fulham striker Raul Jimenez is one of just three forwards to make the top 10 this week ahead of the visit of Tottenham Hotspur to Craven Cottage. Jimenez scored against Brighton and Hove Albion last time out, taking him up to 10 goals for the season and two goal involvements in the last four gameweeks. Despite welcoming key personnel back from injury in recent weeks, Tottenham have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last three, conceding four.
Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard is being more heavily relied upon for his attacking attributes in recent games, but it remains a quiet season by his high standards, with just two goals and three assists for the season. The absence of both Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz leaves Odegaard as first-choice on penalties. Opponents Chelsea haven’t kept a clean sheet on the road in 2025, conceding nine goals in four.
The interest in Bournemouth’s attack for the visit of Brentford remains high, with winger Antoine Semenyo another important consideration. When Evanilson was fit earlier in the season, Semenyo was the go-to Cherries midfielder in this system. He has been a consistent starter in this campaign, with seven goals and five assists, but has just one goal involvement in the last four gameweeks.
I’m surprised not to see Chris Wood higher in this list, with the Nottingham Forest striker the highest-scoring forward in the game this season, with 18 goals and three assists. He netted nine fantasy points in the reverse fixture with the only goal of the game. Ipswich Town continue to struggle in the relegation places, conceding nine goals in their last four games. Wood also has penalties in his locker.
Manchester City assets will be popular as they host Brighton this week, with midfielder Phil Foden somewhat surprisingly their third highest scoring player in FPL this season, despite making just 18 starts in this campaign. He has 10 goal involvements in this time: seven goals and three assists, although he’s failed to produce an attacking return since Gameweek 23, which is somewhat of a concern.
Bruno Fernandes is currently the most transferred-in player for Blank Gameweek 29 and it’s easy to see why. He has produced two goals and two assists in the last four gameweeks and faces a Leicester City side struggling for form in the relegation places. Fernandes’ best fantasy return of the season of 17 points came in the reverse of this fixture which was a 3-0 win for Manchester United.
A poor run of form hasn’t forced the AI away from backing Cole Palmer this weekend, despite a tough trip on paper to Arsenal. A miss from the penalty spot has seen him heavily sold this week, with no goal involvements in his last four games, but he ranks second for shots on goal in the last four gameweeks with 17 and he’s also produced four big chances in this time.
Erling Haaland tops the AI rankings as the best captain pick for FPL Gameweek 29 ahead of the home game against Brighton, though accommodating his £14.7 million price tag will be a challenge for managers. Haaland has two goals and one assist in the last four gameweeks, plus he’s on penalties. He scored in the reverse fixture, although it was the Seagulls who triumphed, taking a 2-1 win.
