Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is now a free agent after Besiktas reportedly paid a severance fee.
According to Turkish outlet Yeni Safak, Besiktas have paid €1.4 million (approx. £1.25m) in order to release the player – a cheaper price than to pay the 31-year-old's remaining wages. Oxlade-Chamberlain's contract was due to expire at the end of the 2025/26 season.
The former Southampton and Arsenal player joined the Turkish side after leaving Liverpool in the summer of 2023 with his time at Merseyside blighted by injuries.
In his time with Besiktas, Oxlade-Chamberlain played 50 games in total over two seasons, scoring five goals.
Besiktas do still have some English representation with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side signing Tammy Abraham on loan from Roma earlier in the transfer window.
