Nürnberg are on the verge of sealing a move for Tarek Buchmann, a highly regarded centre-back talent from FC Bayern, as he prepares to finally set foot in senior professional football.
Once one of Germany’s top defensive prospects, Buchmann’s progress at Bayern was hampered by severe injuries - he missed over a year of action due to a muscle tear and suffered a shoulder setback in early 2025.
He finally returned to match action in February 2025, representing Bayern Munich II after a long absence - but he ended the season once again on the sidelines, after suffering another injury.
"I am incredibly grateful for how caring the club has been towards me during this difficult time, that they really did everything for me," Buchmann stressed to club media earlier this year.
Nürnberg see Buchmann as a potentially influential addition to their defence. Bayern’s U23 coach, Holger Seitz, has praised Buchmann’s intelligence and readiness to return to form, noting he “could quickly get back on track,” and is confident he’ll recover his trajectory under good care.
The now 20-year-old will reunite with Miroslav Klose, who previously coached him in Bayern’s youth ranks and now leads the Nürnberg squad. Klose is viewed as a key figure in facilitating this move and overseeing Buchmann's developmental pathway.
As of right now, the deal is set to be “only” a loan deal - but there are reports suggesting, that Nürnberg might get the option to make the move permanent, with Bayern securing a buy-back-option in the deal.
