As reported by Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich want to keep striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting at the club.
Earlier on in the season, there were reports that Bayern were willing to allow Choupo-Moting to leave the club in the January transfer window. There was an understanding that the sale of the Cameroonian would offer Der Rekordmeister the extra funds required in order to sign defensive and midfield reinforcements.
However, while his contract is set to expire in the summer, Bayern do not want to lose Choupo-Moting. One reason for this is that with the record champions fighting for silverware on two fronts, Thomas Tuchel will need as many options available to him as possible from now until the end of the campaign.
As well as this, Bayern have not had to splash out on signings this window, with Eric Dier arriving from Tottenham Hotspur for a minimal fee, while the club are content with their current midfield options. The only signing considered important at the moment by the Bayern board is that of a right-back, with Kieran Trippier and Nordi Mukiele at the top of their shortlist.
Nevertheless, while Bayern and Choupo-Moting hope to stay together until the end of the season, there is still a slight chance of a sale in this window. However, it is clear that it would take a ludicrous offer for the Rekordmeister to sell.
