Amid growing concerns that their pursuit of Nico Williams may end in disappointment, Bayern Munich are eyeing a move for Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, according to L’Equipe.

With Leroy Sane recently joining Galatasaray and Kingsley Coman regularly battling injuries, Bayern are in the market for a new winger this summer.

Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams has been their primary target for weeks, admired for his pace and ability to beat defenders in one-on-one situations.

Alongside Chelsea and Arsenal, Bayern have emerged as a possible destination for Williams and are undeterred by his €58 million release clause.

However, a deal is currently unlikely as Williams is prioritising a move to Barcelona, who are now in negotiations with his current employers.

Bayern would be ready to reignite their pursuit of Williams should his desired switch to Barcelona fail to materialise, but the Bavarians are also keeping tabs on several alternatives.

Bradley Barcola and Rafael Leao are both in Bayern’s thinking, but Bynoe-Gittens appears to be the most feasible option at the moment.

The Englishman has already agreed personal terms with Chelsea, although the Blues have been unable to strike a deal with Dortmund.

This could open the door for Bayern to make an attempt to land Bynoe-Gittens as their search for attacking reinforcement continues.

Bayern’s sporting director, Max Eberl, and head coach Vincent Kompany have both been reportedly impressed by Bynoe-Gittens who has been on the radar at the Allianz Arena for the past year.

Bynoe-Gittens recorded 12 goals and three assists across all competitions during the 2024-25 season and is valued at around €65 million.

His attacking output is only expected to grow, and Kompany, known for nurturing youth during his time at Burnley and Anderlecht, would likely relish the opportunity to shape Bynoe-Gittens into a future star.
