Harry Kane and Eric Dier returned to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and walked away with the last laugh after earning commemorative awards for their time in England.

They were not smiling after the first minute, though, when Spurs grabbed the lead after 23 seconds. Dejan Kulusevski showed his striker qualities by starting and finishing a counterattack with an expert volley.

Bayern eventually settled into the game and scored three unanswered goals to turn things around.

Dayot Upamecano tapped the ball home from close range after an initial save before Serge Gnabry made things 2-1. Guglielmo Vicario tried to play out the back but gifted the ball to the visitors, and the Bayern ace capitalized.

Thomas Müller then joined the action with a diving header from close range.

The half-time whistle curbed momentum for both sides and the second half became a back-and-forth affair with chances at either end and challenges flying.

Swedish duo Lukas Bergvall and Kulusevski later combined for Spurs’ second when the new signing stripped the ball off Bayern and played his team-mate into the box.

The final 10 minutes saw fans rise to their feat as Kane was brought off the bench against his former club. While he failed to find the back of the net, Bayern held on to win their first title under Vincent Kompany and lift the Visit Malta Cup.
