Bayern CEO Dreesen comments on rumours about Woltemade and Williams | OneFootball

Bayern Munich are currently running the transfer market - but only with rumours and some rejections. That's why Bayern's CEO Jan-Christian Deesen felt the need to comment on their recent transfer business and rumours regarding Bilbao's Nico Williams and Stuttgart's Nick Woltemade:

Dreesen on Nico Williams: “The ten-year contract is a statement. We should never forget that Nico Williams is Basque and Athletic Bilbao exclusevly have Basque players. They have their own rules there. Besides, his brother plays there, which was certainly a deciding factor. And if I read everything correctly in Germany, he was no longer being discussed for us, but for Barcelona.”

Bayern were reportedly always keeping tabs on the Spanish winger, but were well informed of the fact that Barcelona would have been Williams' more likely destination - if he had decided to leave Bilbao.

The transfer saga around Nick Woltemade however, has been going on for a while now - and there is no end in sight at this moment in time. As per many reports in German media, Stuttgart and Bayern have decided to put the talks about Woltemade on hold for now.

That's why Dreesen didn't comment much on the German striker: “There is only one thing to say about that - Nick Woltemade is a VfB Stuttgart player and it's not appropiate to stir up any discussions or make comments.”

According to Sky Germany, Woltemade has reiterated to Stuttgart from his vacation that he wants to join Bayern this summer. Both parties however, are still reserved, since Bayern has not come forward with a written offer for Woltemade - and Stuttgart have not set a definitve asking price for their striker.
