In recent weeks, AC Milan have stuck to the same team often, and looked more comfortable doing so; a trend which should continue.

Though it may be cliche, a team that sticks together normally wins together, and that is the case both metaphorically and literally. Metaphorically, a team fighting for the same cause will be better than one fighting for their own aims individually.

However, the big focus is having a consistent team and network around you – you learn the runs, ideas and intricacies of your teammates more easily, rather than having to adapt on a game-by-game basis.

Of course, changes will occur now and again, but the longer a team stays together as a unit, the better, and Sergio Conceicao is a big subscriber to that theory, as we have seen with his Milan team in recent weeks.

Today, Peppe Di Stefano, a Sky journalist, reports that this should continue this weekend, as relayed by Francesco Nasato.

“The lineup against Genoa, barring any sensational surprises, will be in line with that seen in the last few games. Today, Jovic did some personalised work in preparation for returning to the group between tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.”
