Barcelona’s La Masia youth academy has always been known for producing talents in abundance.

Despite there being a lull in youth players making it to the first team in the recent past, things are back to normal now, with a plethora of young players like Ansu Fati, Gavi, Alejandro Balde, and now Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsi, Fermin Lopez, and Hector Fort going onto star for the senior side.

As such, it is an exciting time for other young talents at the club as they believe they can also follow in the footsteps of these players and knock down the first-team doors.

It is one of the reasons why midfield gem Marc Bernal does not want to leave the club despite having tempting offers from elsewhere. And another young talent is now ready to follow a similar path.

Pedro Rodriguez not considering exit despite lucrative proposals

Indeed, according to SPORT, Barcelona midfield prospect Pedro Rodriguez Iglesias is not considering leaving the club despite having two lucrative proposals from top clubs in Europe.

Pedro, 16, is one of the sensations of the season in Barça’s youth football. The teenager is exciting the coaches at the club with his marvellous technique and his enormous ability to turn games on their heads.

These qualities have attracted the attention of two big clubs, one from England and the other from a Central European league.

But Pedro and his family, grateful for the interest, are not thinking of leaving Barça.

Pedro eager to grow at Barcelona

Pedro Rodríguez, 16, joined La Masia in 2019 from Granada’s academy. His first team at the Blaugrana club was Alevín A. At the time, he was the youngest resident at La Masia.

Pedro feels valued and cared for at Barça and the club also wants to invest in a player in whom they have high hopes for the future. The will of both parties is to sign a contract that will keep the player’s dream of success at Camp Nou alive.

Pedro has exploded this season and despite usually playing as a midfielder, he has already scored 12 goals between Cadete A (8 goals) and Juvenil B (4 goals).

The Blaugrana are delighted with the player from Granada and have decided to ask him to sign his first professional contract.
